Hendrickson Unitised System (HUS)
Extended life hub, axle & brake package –
unbeatable.
Extensive
research and development by Hendrickson's R&D department and
specialist mechanical engineers has resulted in a unique trailer
axle and hub system specifically designed for the most demanding
Australian operating conditions.
One of the prime reasons behind the development of the
Hendrickson Unitised Hub 'HUS' hub system was to achieve the
highest quality, lowest possible cost Trailer Axle and Hub
System to last the life of the trailer. The net result is
minimum maintenance, negligible down time and no more wheel
bearing adjustments.
The hub assembly design is very impressive and will undoubtedly
set the industry standard for many years to come!
Hendrickson has optimised the rim load centre line position and
combined this improvement with the high quality SKF bearing hub
and its proven axle and spindle technology to achieve a true
'maintenance free', 'sealed for life' hub.
The HUS hub is assembled in almost clinical conditions; this
ensures optimum cleanliness and a dust free environment when the
hub is 'sealed for life' at the assembly point. The bearing
cones are precisely matched to the cone operating area and
incorporate bearings of equal size to carry the rim load share
evenly. The hub is then filled with synthetic grease which has
been tested and proven to operate in the closed hub environment.
Triple lip seals in the front and rear of the hub further
enhance the totally sealed environment before the hub cap is
fitted with yet another seal to ensure no water ingress
whatsoever.
The net result of this unique hub, brake, spindle and bearing
combination is a clear product technical advantage and a
substantial maintenance saving achieving more bottom line profit
for large or small fleet operators.
Imagine no more wheel bearing adjustments needed, less workshop
time required, a huge amount of kilometers traveled before any
need to just look at the hub and substantial savings on the
painful, but extremely necessary brake maintenance.
The HUS equipped INTRAAX first hit the roads in Australia in
2004, being supported with a 5 year 1 million km on highway
warranty, there are now over 1000 units in service with
discerning fleet operators who are looking to increase profits
through lower maintenance, time will tell, but confidence is
running high.
